ABOUT ME

I am a native Montanan who has worked within the field of trauma for over 20 years. I consider myself a “working man’s” therapist and am here to support you and help you regardless of your politics, values, or life position. I was raised in a family who upheld the idea that you “treat the janitor with the same respect as the CEO”.

I am regarded as trustworthy, approachable, and candid, creating a safe space without judgment. I am light-hearted, occasionally irreverent and sarcastic, and bring ease to the therapeutic process.

If you are feeling guarded or hesitant, concerned about facing judgment or shame for your viewpoints, thoughts, or feelings, I encourage you to reach out and give me a call. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to express yourself freely and work through any struggles you may be experiencing.

I am here to offer you guidance, validation, support and clarity…

Even Tony Soprano needed a therapist!

Prior to transitioning into the mental health field, I spent several years as a high school teacher and educator. Even now, my passion for learning and education remains strong, but my experience has also deepened my understanding of the profound influence that "systems" exert on our lives, whether that influence is positive or negative.

I have a profound appreciation for the influence of growing up in Montana, surrounded by the invaluable Montanan experiences that have shaped my outlook on life. I now live outside of Missoula where I am blessed to share my life with my wife, children, dogs, chickens, and our rooster Carl.

I come to my sessions as a relaxed, open, light-hearted person. I want to work with people who might ordinarily be suspicious or skeptical of therapy. I know first hand how hard it can be to reach out for help when you feel that your thoughts, feelings, or values may not be seen as culturally or socially acceptable, or maybe not a good fit for “traditional therapy”. If you want help understanding your identity, role, or place in the world, therapy with me can help.

There is no problem too big or too small. I approach everyone’s concerns with compassion, acceptance, and understanding.

Please feel free to reach out to me for a free 15 minute consultation to see if we might be a good match. I look forward to meeting you.
